Hi anybody familiar with playlist.
The question is  when I use playlist and i use it with enable button shut off (the E shortcut) so it does not load next song,Playlist  does not close any project i have opened even though i have selected Allow only one project in the advanced setting,is this normal?
Do i have to close each file if playlist is not Enabled?
Thanks
Peace

Yes -  that is normal.  Once you open a playlist,  if you go to preferences you will notice that the one file option becomes greyed out.  If you un-enable the playlist you must close songs manually.

This has been discussed elsewhere, and a consensus was that Sonar SHOULD close a project when it opens the next one on a playlist. Why it doesn't, especially when the Only One Project option is selected is a mystery!

It does close the project if the playlist is 'enabled'  Joden. The only exception is if any changes are made to the project.
It is impossible to select single project mode once a playlist is open.  It is greyed out in the options.  The reason for this is that if a playlist is active it loads the next song whilst the current one is playing. It really does all make sense.

Yes it makes sense how it is ,It`s just that at the moment I`m using it on a very slow laptop, so while playing a song loading the next is interrupting the lyrics view.
I tried on the studio laptop it`s ok so few months more and an I5 will do.
Thanks all

nope, not for me it doesn't, all previous opened projects are still lined up behind the current one....using latest SPLAT version...and in fact when in playlist mode the Only Open One Project option is greyed out.

Yes -  I have noticed that projects in the playlist don't load quite as quickly in Sonar 2015 as they did in X3. I run an i7 for my live show,  and occasionally on larger projects the next project loading will cause the click track count-in of the current project to glitch. It only plays through my in ear monitors so it is no big deal,  but this never happened in X3.  Unfortunately due to patch points,  the projects will no longer load in X3 when they are created in the new Sonar or I would still use it for live shows.

I remember your issue Joden -  still no luck? I have just run a quick check and the playlist in the latest update is closing songs as it should when enabled.
As I said in the last post,  the one file option is always greyed out when a playlist is open. The playlist needs to open more than one project to function.  it has no effect on the playlist closing songs once they have played.
Do you by any chance use any Prochannel fx chain presets in your projects? This caused me some grief with the playlist thinking projects had changed when they had not,  stopping them from closing as they should.

Thanks Bruce I will check that out - re Prochannel. I do use it for a few songs. So I will try Playlist again with no PRo-channel..although not sure what I'll do if I have to remove it...put the effects in track EFX I guess haha!

Not the pro channel on its own Joden - it is fine.  The issue I had was saving fx from the fx bin (specifically breverb) as part of a pro channel fx chain preset and then inserting that preset into a project. Every time the playlist started  to play the project it would register the file as changed with an asterisks next to its name on the project window title. This stops the playlist from closing projects. You were not getting asterisks though we're you?
