Can we get more .arp arpeggiator patterns to download and save in the pattern folder and use them?

Here is a collection which works in the SONAR arp http://project5.technetos...ique/alesion-arp.shtml

This post reminded me of something I wanted to check. Z3TA+2 has a powerful arpeggiator... I am not sure if it transmits those with enable MIDI output (or having Z3TA itself not fire but still pass the MIDI output).

On-topic, I have read that only Project 5 can create the .ARP files, but some folks here do have that up and running (I think).

Update: I revisited the prospect of using the arpeggiator in Z3TA+2 and the idea was not achievable in any method that I tried. It appears it only passes the original MIDI notes through and the engine itself creates the arpeggiated audio from them (not arpeggiated MIDI output).

I don't have project 5.

To my mind, too many arpeggiator presets are in the form of predetermined pitch relationships instead of just doing something cool with the notes you throw at it. If I'm looking for a precomposed vamp or melody that's something I would use a MIDI or audio loop for. I really wish Sonar had an arpeggiator along the lines of Trilian's (I presume Omnisphere has the same one?). It's very versatile and has loads of great presets which honor your chord tones. Sonar's arpeggiator is very dated. Adequate for basic up/down synth basses and the like but not much else. 99% of the presets I've found unusable.

You do not need Project 5 to use the Alesion PTN Construction Kit in the link above. You would need Project 5 to create your own arp patterns. Here is an old discussion about the files http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2716317
I also found the arp presets which the link refers to at http://patcharena.com/downloads/index.php?subcat=108. The file is called "Alesion ARP Presets.zip"

Thanks scook. Those are *.ptn files. I found the *.arp files here.

FWIW, SONAR can work with both file types. That is one reason I posted the link to the other discussion (in addition to the arps at patcharena).

Hello Mettelus,

You can drag and drop the arp patterns right from Z3TA+2 into any midi track in Sonar. From the Z3TA+2 interface, click the "ARP" tab, and just click+hold+drag the arp notes (from the grid) over to any midi track in Sonar. ALL the midi notes in the arp pattern will export to a midi clip in your project (ready for editing/tweaking). I saw this once in a tutorial video for Z3TA+2 that i bought in cakewalk online store.
It's a great feature!!!

Also, it's a good idea to point out that Z3TA+2 has all the "classic" presets and arps from the Z3TA1 release. (Just click on "Factory Content" to see the classic preset library).
