Hey DRank, do you see a pattern - I'm guessing you'll be dropping Webroot Secure Anywhere soon, too.

Sadly, I don't have a recommendation as I use AVG on most of my machines and Norton on one of them.

I love how people start a post with a question and never return...

Thanks, folks, for all the thoughts. I'm new to this type of format and it's taken me 5 min to figure out how to best reply. And I still don't know how to do that.

I downloaded melodyne from the sonar command center, as cakewalk asks this to be done. And, yes, I think AVG's no longer worth it, unfortunately.

Don't know about any threat in Melodyne (my DAW is offline with no AV installed)

However I've been using Eset NOD for many years without complaints on my home PC.
NOD seems to be low on resource usage.

DRanck, you might check the WebRoot file "ProgramData/WRData", it "grows" every day (60gb today)!
I put it on a separate drive.
My C drive is 27gb, with the WRData moved.
I'm about done with the 1yr subscription, them I'm moving on!
Off topic I know, sorry.

Hmmm, I'll check intro that folder. The reason I chose webroot is it's "wait and see" approach to protection. So far it's been working well, but yeah in a year or two it may suffer from bloating.

Sheesh. Complaints about AVG falsely flagging plugin installers have been around for at least three years. You'd think they'd have resolved it by now. Don't worry about it, it's AVG that's the problem.

I was going to upgrade Melodine the other day to take advantage of their offer but stopped when I noticed that I did not have a secure connection. I think they have a problem with their certificates. It said their site was trying to load scripts from unauthorized sources.

Same here, although when I switched from Chrome to IE, I saw that I once again had a secure connection. That being said, I decided to hold off a few more weeks to upgrade to 4 so who knows if AVG will throw a fit when that time comes.  I haven't had any issues with AVG though, at least not yet.
