If you are using a Windows device as your remote client (laptop, tablet) you already have software available to remotely connect to your DAW PC: Remote Desktop (RDC). Here's a link to Win 7 instructions:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/connect-using-remote-desktop-connection#connect-using-remote-desktop-connection=windows-7

And for Win 10: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/how-to-use-remote-desktop
And also for Mac: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-remote-desktop/id715768417?mt=12

RDC uses TCP/IP over your network so latency should be minimal. The advantage that TeamViewer has is that it runs on many devices and if needed can use HTTP. RDC doesn't run directly on iOS or Android.

Thanks to all that have replied. Shame on you that have been using solutions like this for years and have not got it out to other forum members, while solutions like touchdaw, which I find very doggy to set up, were offered as solutions to the problem. I find this very elegant, nothing new to learn or to set up. Just use the software that you already have set up and know how to use.

I installed team viewer and almost went blind trying to see Sonar on a 10 inch screen. Although, it works well between my laptop and desktop. Latency is kinda bad though.
