No Slice Of Cake
So I just got a fancy new computer. I've got old projects that were on a friend's laptop that I've brought on to this one. But now I'm getting a lot of popping when playback my audio. It's not part of the audio tracks as when I render them out, the popping is gone. I've gone through the audio options and set it up as best I can, but the popping is still there. I believe it's a software issue or maybe it doesn't have the right drivers or plug-ins.

I'm not sure what else to try, I'm not too tech savvy.  Just like to play guitar and recording music.

sounds like a sound card issue, what are you using for a soundcard ?
(a usb interface or your onboard soundcard ?)

Does your new computer have Wi-Fi?  If so, try turning it off when using Sonar.

Are you using onboard sound or a dedicated audio interface?
Make sure you are using asio drivers for your sound card.  Go to preferences/audio and use the asio control panel to increase the buffer size.

You may need to sacrifice some latency and increase the time in your ASIO driver a touch.
Edit: Ah. I see chucklebaby's link says it all.

I increased the buffer to safest, it was almost there so it only helped a little. I switched my audio driver to ASIO and that caused more problems. Couldn't even get play back or adjust the buffer size. I switched it back to WDM/KS put my buffer to safest and then the pops stopped. Not to sure why. Thanks for everyones help, definitely learned a few things

I think we can provide some addtional help if you could tell us a little about your set up.  What sound card/audio interface are you using and what are your computer specs?  Also what version of Sonar do you have?
