• SONAR
  • Piano Roll glitch in Platinum Manchester?

Hey folks.  Can anyone reproduce this in Manchester Platinum?

1. Create an empty project
2. Insert a midi track,  then record short clip
3. Place the now marker on the middle of the clip
4. Open the piano roll (If the velocity controller pane is not visible,  reveal it,  then close PRV and repeat step 3 and 4)

Upon first opening,  the notes and the velocity lines do not line up. As soon as I click the scroll bar  or actually scroll to a new page they are corrected.
This happens opening any midi track in PRV.  If I open a midi clip,  it will appear that there are velocities but no notes until I start to scroll.

I can't reproduce this.  My notes and their velocities are always present and correctly aligned.  I tried several combinations of options in addition to following your steps exactly.  The only thing that might differ is the length of the clip recorded (and I used the Sonar virtual controller to enter the notes during record).

Are these two different situations ?  In the first it seems like your notes are visible, but not in the second ?

Hi Paul.

Thanks for trying this.

In the second example I am talking about longer midi tracks.  The midi notes move forward of the velocities so that when I open the PRV all that I see are the velocity lines untill  I start to scroll,  then the notes jump back into alignment.

It must be something on my system.  I will reinstall Manchester.

Thanks again Paul.

I have just tried this on my live rig (different PC and interface) and have exactly the same issue. Weird.

OK, I can reproduce this.  But only with the PRV in the Multidock, and only if I open with a keyboard shortcut or "right-click / View / PRV".  With the PRV window floating things work properly and if I double-click the clip to open the PRV it's also correct.

(display image only to make it bigger)

Things of note :

1. The now time is completely to the left, on the proper position on the time line, but it (and measure 5.5) should
    be centered in the pane.

2. The velocity bars are correctly placed with respect to the now time (they're for the notes following the now time),
but the bars should be on the right side of the pane if the now time were in the middle.

3. The notes are too far to the right with respect to the now time.  Completely after it instead of centered on it.

4. If I scroll with the scroll bar arrow buttons, the error is maintained and everything shifts.  Scrolling with the scroll slider
    immediately fixes the error.

I can reproduce repeatedly.  If I use a keyboard shortcut I can open and close the multidock'ed prv and it's always wrong.

Thanks Paul.  Good catch on the multidock as a causal factor.  I would not have made that distinction as that is where my PRV lives. Also identical with the slider to correct view so I suspect this is a bug.

It looks that link will only work from your account (at least it doesn't work from mine).

Thanks for taking the time to submit the report.  Hope the bug gets fixed in a timely manner.  In the meantime at least it's not a huge problem.

+1, that link goes to the account someone is logged in as. Made me chuckle since some looked SO familiar... Then I began reading dates... First I laughed, then I cried.

Sorry about the link guys.  I didn't realise others couldn't use it.
Thanks for nailing the problem down Paul.  You are right- it is just a small issue.

Haha mettelus. The emotional roller-coaster of the problem reporting pages:)
