Is Platinum more stable than X1? I have had nothing but trouble with X1 and actually went back to using 8.5 for most of my work. Before buying Platinum I'm interested in people's opinions.

Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mike.  Platinum is far more stable than X1 in my experience. The most stable of the X series was X3e.

I was one of the very few (apparently) that didn't have much trouble with X1 and really liked the new interface straight away.

IMHO it has just got better with each release so platinum is quite a way better than X1. It's streets in front of 8.5.

Why not try the demo to see what you think?

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll do that!

Thank you, that's very helpful!

FWIW I definitely find Platinum more stable than X3e. But, so much of stability relates to system and usage. Definitely check out the demo, that will make up your mind for you.

Ya I would say it is a lot more stable, and usable. I was not that happy with X1. It was ok after patches, but still had issues. Now some of those issues were EastWest and their horrible Play product, but X1 itself had some real problem. X2 was worse, that was just a disaster for me and pretty unusable.

X3 though, brilliant. Fast and stable from the word go. Still not 100% sold on their new interface and indeed I mess with it to make it work more like the older interface in some ways, but the code is solid. So I subscribed to Platinum updates when it came out and I've been happy I did. It works great.

Now to be fair I haven't done a straight A-B comparison with X1 and Platinum on this system, with these plugins, but all I can say is I was somewhat unhappy with X1 and I'm very happy with Platinum.

Also, unless they changed things, you can roll back to any version you like in the Platinum chain, even if you subscribe later. So if the current version doesn't work, you can easily try earlier versions and see if they work for you.

I didn't mean to imply that x3e was more stable than Platinum Craig,  just that it was the most stable of the old series (X1,  x2 and X3.) Apologies for the ambiguity.

I have to agree with this point. I also would state that the Sonar 2015 and 2016 are more stable than X3e which is saying a lot. It was the best of the X series.  I should say X1 was fairly stable on my system.

Generally the trend with CW has been more stability with each version.  The latest version is close to being rock solid. I don't recall a crash with it.
