Probably One of the dumbest Questions Ive every asked, but I used to hold shift key down and drag audio clips from one track to another track.  However now, clips will not will move from the track they were recorded on... it's like they are attached.  I cant even cut n paste them to another track..

Ive wasted 45 minutes trying to do a 4 second task ... can anyone help?
thanks

Shift & drag has always worked for me and still does.

Are you sure the clips aren't locked?

Are you moving the cursor over the track until it looks like a cross or plus sign?

I determined they are not locked, and I do wait until the cursor turns to a cross.  I finally figured out a work around, cut special and paste special.... I am not feeling all that special right now doing it.  If there's a one in a million weird problem... I'll find it every time...  thanks for your help

That's very weird indeed. Hopefully scook or Craig will come to save the day. I hope you get it figured out.

Me too ... I never had this issue before either until about a month or so ago...

Speaking of weird problems, I also use Spitfie Audio and 8DIO sounds in Kontakt.  These are not cheap fly by night programs... but it does this really weird thing every third or fourth session, where you record a track, but when you play it back its almost inaudible.  Ive tried a gazzilion different things to fix the problem all to no avail.  I used to think it was an 8DIO problem until Spitfire audio started doing the same thing.  No one on the planet has ever heard of this issue either.  The only work around is to reboot the instrument after every take... so I record with Kontakt strings and change to the other programs for playback.  The only fix anyone has offered is switch to Mac...

Try unchecking " Zero all controllers when payback stops" under preferences/project/midi (with a project open). I have a couple of kontakt sounds that use  expression controllers and with this checked the volume reduces drastically as soon as you stop playback. This would mean that the sound would be fine whilst you are recording, but as soon as you stop recording and try to play back the track, the volume of the sound would be reduced.

i "think" I already tried that but I am so desperate to resolve this issue I will check it out again.  Thank you for responding... I just dread the thought of switching to Mac so I'll do about anything to resolve this issue

Haha - a bit soon to make that kind of radical jump! I am sure the people here can help you fix your problems with a bit of patience and learning:)
