  • No new features - just fixes please

Just curious if others would agree.  While I paid for a subscription - I am happy if no new synths or features are added.
If attention for a year could be paid just to glitches and the like, it is fine with me.

I know this is a very difficult task for software people.  The customers have different operating systems, different soundcards, motherboards, ram, etc.  And this complications and diversity of systems has only become more complicated over the years.  If we all had the same computer, I have to assume it would all be a lot easier.

Given how difficult this all is, and how little the annual subscription renewal was ($99?) - I am very happy if a year is spent on just bug fixes.

THANKS AWESOME SOFTWARE PEOPLE.

I can agree with that.  Being a new Sonar user, I wouldn't mind forgoing new features for a year while the existing features get a tune-up. It might be an annoyance for some, but in the long run the benefits would far outweigh the temporary inconvenience.  Besides, getting it cleaned up could mean less future bugs when features/tools are added.

I tend to agree until I see some bit of voodoo accomplished in a competing product.

One does not take away from  the other, as has been stated MANY times. There are bug fixes every month, there are not new features promised every month....

Get over it.

I would like to have my cake and walk it too.

Imo the way the bakers have managed to handle the priority
of bugfixes in the monthly updates is perfect.

Sonar is getting more stable regular.....
In between I like
to get some new tools aso which have several times been
an inspiration for my songs in the last 12 months.
There are many different kind of musicians using Sonar
so that  the best case is that for everybody is something in the update basket.
regards

Sonar is definitely getting cleaned up, but there are still some pretty important fixes needed.  "Delete Hole" for MIDI being one under current discussion.  I think it's these big issues that are implied when proposing to calm the new features down a bit.

Agreed,
but imo no matter to do only bugfixes for 1 year .
But there could be more bugfixes
on the priority list, if most Sonarians like.

All I can say is, the midi thing is not a big bug for me. So is it, fix my bug first, or does it affect the majority of users? That and how hard(or how long it takes) a particular fix will be to implement without affecting anything else is how they set priorities. I am pretty sure they don't set priorities by the "loudness" of the complaints, especially if it is a small group of folks.

Except that in the case I mentioned, it's like if in Microsoft Word select/delete replaced text with spaces.  Would anybody accept that ?  We're talking the most basic of midi editing.
