The only thing with that transpose slider is that sometimes I try and quickly go up or down and octave and wouldn't you know but the darn thing seems to hit everything but 12 semitones. So I flip between 11 and 13 semitones and the resulting out of key music just adds to my stress levels

Hi Sharke,
Hold down Shift and use scroll wheel.... 1,2,3,4...11,12,13...

Stress level reduced?

I don't really have an opinion on the matter.  I'm not a power user, just a hobbyist.

I did subscribe, but I haven't updated recently.  I'm still apprehensive about updates due to the problem reports posted....

Really, you don't need to be. The rollback option works, and many of the bugs probably won't relate to your particular workflow or situation...if they do, roll back and check the next month's eZine to see if the issue was fixed.

I'll give you a good example. Recently, there was a feature added where track templates can recall Aux Track and Patch Point assignments. It works fine, with one exception: If you have a blank project with nothing at all in it and start off by loading a track template with Aux Tracks or Patch Points, those tracks will default to the hardware interface input. Technically speaking, that's a bug and it will be fixed, but it doesn't cause any problems...and it was something SONAR couldn't do at all previously anyway.

With focus on the key+ widget, square bracket keys, [ ], transpose down and up by octaves.

Excellent stuff. However I think I just found a bug. I suspected that the scroll wheel without a keyboard modifier would transpose in octaves, but in fact it transposes in 13 semitones. Now that can't possibly be intended. I'll report it, but I suspect it's one of those age old bugs which has been reported a thousand times before but ignored....

I'm okay with new features but I'd rather see actual functionality baked into Sonar rather than more pointless fluff like Style Dials or Rapture Session. I think we can all agree that things such as comping/take lanes still need work. I'd still like to see a Scratch Pad type feature added into Sonar much like Studio One uses. AudioSnap still needs work. We still need proper BPM detection and a new time stretching algorithm. I'd like to see more done with the existing features like Step Sequencer and Matrix, an overhaul on the piano roll...

Last year was really good with patch points, upsample, synth recording and Start Screen. Plus the bug fixes have been great. More of that, please!

Open a second blank project and try use that as a scratchpad, see what you think.

The Studio One designers are sticking to a single-window philosophy and the Scratch Pad is a kind of a work-around.

Please fix bugs
Professional use is limited because of them...

Thel bakers seem to be quashing lots of bugs each month... a good balance between new things and bugs...for different audiences.

I would be one of many hoping for more focus on workflow improvements as detailed in many of the suggestions threads... console folders, expandable faders, a new arranging system, template color retention, etc... MY professional use will be enhanced with them...

Hi, my membership ends at March 26 and I won't renew. During the last year of rolling updates there was only a few things that helped me with my daily work. Most of the stuff added may be nice for some people but I wasn't one of them it seems.
Features I use and need did not get any attention and stayed bugged like transient detection or clip group copy. Also there are some really annoying bugs with automation copy from track to track, take lane behaviour and the idiotic need of a average tempo in audio snap and audio stretch which makes it nearly impossible to change tempo in complex projects (including audio). Before the last year I used Sonar nearly for everything, the last year having two subscriptions (Cakewalk and Avid) I used both programs equally, depending on the kind of the project. But because of the development Sonar has made the last year, there are less and less things that make me stick to it.
The melodyne ARA integration, fast comping and the ProChannel are really great features. But everything else I use does not meet my workflow so much, being better off with another program.
I hope my posting isn't taken personal by anyone, I just tried to explain why I think Cakewalk should do more fixing and improving existing features than adding new (in my opinion useless) ones (add track menue? Sry, don't get it).
