Hello all,

I mainly use Sonar Platinum as an engineer for mixing.  Folks bring me their tracks or record them here in my studio and I mix them and get them ready for mastering or if they desire, to just send them out for whatever they want to do with it.

I  also used this process to sharpen my skills or re-open the raw files and remix them in a different way when I don't have any customers, but I usually wind up with a similar mix because I've initially mixed the song and so it's stuck in my head.

Why am I telling you this? Well I recently found a web site which provides raw tracks from recording session that are now downloadable to anyone, no membership required.  You can uses these files to sharpen your skills or just fool around with the tracks.  What makes it great is that it's various genre's of music to practice with.

Visit this site  Cambridge Music Technology  Go down towards the bottom and see the files.

You will be able to download the files, unpack them and import into Sonar as wave files. The entire song usually comes as first recorded without any mixing.  Some files have been mixed but we can try to mix it better or worse, LOL.

I hope you all enjoy the mixing experience.

Thanks for the link. Checking them out now. Looks like a large choice of styles and many examples of each. My mixing skills could use all the help it can get.

Thanks for sharing. It a is great place to learn different styles. I have done a couple of songs from there (only uploaded one). Good recordings, and lots of different songs to choose from. Good place that has many full songs for people to mix.
All the best.

I see that this site also has a lot of adjunct materials that support the information in Mike Senior's book "Mixing Secrets for the Small Studio."  This is my second most used reference book (The Sonar Reference Guide  is first). I suspect that this will become  a much visited website.  Thanks.
