First, installation of Control Center hanged, grayed out and acted weird before it finally installed. Now trying to download the 60 day trial of Platinum for X3 Producer owners on Win 7 through Control Center and it hangs and it's acting very "funny." Screen grays out, comes back, computer fan gets really loud, then control center screen graphics come back. Wow!!!!! It this is any indication of how Platinum might run on my system, I may not even try it out.  Anyone having issues on Win7? Thanks!

Hey, If your cpu is only 1.6 ghz,then splat may not run. check system requirements.

Sorry to hear you are having troubles. Stick with it - it is well worth it.   Does the Platinum download show up in your account? If so you could download and install it manually. 
I am running platinum on a DV6 and it is rock solid. You should have no trouble once you get up and running on your D7.

Might this be anything to do with the need to "Run as Administrator ..."?
 

hum? I thought that a speed of 1.6ghz trying to run a program that needs at least 2.6ghz might have something to do with fan over running. I would un install it and reboot the modem and try it again fresh.

I suspect the appearance of what looked like a hung grey screen may well have been the installation of a c++ update that came with the control centre install iirc.  It took forever on my win 7 machine too.

It's a 4 core 8 thread processor.  Always tricky when you just look at one number:)

Thanks Bruce! It's encouraging to hear that it runs well for you on a similar machine. Yeah, I didn't think system requirements were an issue. I already run X3 and record with lots of plugins without issues. It downloaded overnight, so I'll take it for a spin later in the week. Also, thank you PassiveDrift for lending a helping hand.
