Here is a great Landr mastering case study from our own Panu Pentikäinen (user panup)
He talks about how he tested Landr on a live studio project.

That was unexpected; I liked the LANDR master better.

Of course, a sample of one doesn't prove anything. As panup says "it's hit or miss depending on the mix".

I had similar results using Har-Bal in full-automatic mode - one in ten songs came out better than my own version. But that was 10 years ago. At that time I'd not previously done any mastering. I had mid-grade speakers in a small room with no acoustic treatment. The last time I revisited Har-Bal was about 5 years ago, and in ten out of ten tests it made the mixes worse, not better.

Once again Panu goes the extra mile for Sonar users. Can somebody hire this guy?

I don't want to get hired - I want more holidays! :D

My opinion:
Listening to this on my laptop through headphones I liked Panup's mix better.
The LANDR-mix felt a little to piercing to the ears. I can imagine that listening to a whole CD mastered by LANDR will lead to ear-fatigue sooner?
Panup's mix/master seemed just that little bit mellower which is a style I just happen to like more...

I don't mind that Landr is in Sonar, but I would still like a way to place cd markers in Sonar, and improve the wav editing.

+1.
Landr version is more hyped, more compressed and a bit louder (volume difference of the test files were matched to make comparison easier).
Dynamics in my version is more natural. In my opinion this kind of song does need to sound bigger and louder than everything else.

I like the Landr version. Next week I'm editing band's music video and I have an opportunity to select between masters or make a remaster with fresh pair of ears. In Youtube video I would use Landr but in CD my version.

Ah yes; that makes sense (to me...)
