Well thanks, but my "handiwork" consisted simply of "de-REXing" the file. Not exactly the height of creativity, but I'm certainly glad it solved your problem, and I learned something about what do with REX files that aren't edited properly.

REX files are really not meant for this kind of material; acidization is.

I need to hunt down the post you made about REX vs Acidized at some point and read that again. After seeing the before/after on these files, rx2 is rather scary - but I am not sure why they stuck transient markers in the middle of a sound without obvious transients either. Perhaps this set is just a fluke (i.e., operator error or bad discretion).

Meanwhile, you might find this article helpful, as well as this one.

...and I just remembered this "Tip of the Week" may be exactly what you want.

Thanks for the follow up. I remembered where I first saw you chime in about these now, it was when Boydie had mentioned he had different format options to choose from for a sample library he was looking into. This was your response to him back then with an article to keyboard magazine. The Tip of the Week one I definitely need to revisit, since I have rarely used the Loop Construction view but need to get more familiarity with it.
