I'm using Sonar 8. Can someone tell me how to save my audio wave file, it's just 1 track, and export it to my usb flash drive so I can transfer it to my computer and email it to someone? The computer that Sonar is on is not on the internet and my friend needs this for a game app he's working on. Would love the help.

Thanks,
Trisha

The best way is probably to export the audio from Sonar onto the hard drive, then copy the exported file onto the flash drive.

Sonar might let you export directly to the flash RAM but USB memory can be a bit strange in handling non-stop large writes sometimes. Exporting from Sonar to the hard drive then copying the wave file should be 100% reliable and probably faster than saving straight from Sonar to the flash stick.

That would be fine and thank you tlw. I saved it to my hard drive but don't know how to copy it to the flash. Help? Surely I'm almost there... haven't used flash drives much.

Thanks ahead,
Trisha

The USB drive is just like any disk drive on your system, and you can access it just like finding files on your C: drive.  Open up File Explorer, navigate to the file you exported from Sonar, right-click on the file, then expand the Send To from the drop-down and pick the USB drive.  This is one way to do it.  You could also have done a 'copy' of the target file and then navigated to the USB drive under This PC in File Explorer and done a Paste.

Anyways, one of the above will get that done for you - if you first export your track from Sonar to somewhere on one of your disk drives.

And thank you Bob! Didn't see your post till now. Thanks guys, I got it to my friend already. Yes! But it was way too quiet . So hard to know what the volume will be at the final destination. If it's too quiet for John I'll have to go back in and do all this again..... I hope I remember.
