meh

so far I suspect Prochannel (concrete limiter maybe) and vst2/vst3 relationship but Prochannel is the main suspect...

I use the concrete limiter in every project so I wouldn't suspect it.

Yeah, same here, I have the CL module in my default template, along with Console Emulators on every channel on by default.

I am seeing this issue but with other plugins, together with a loud POP, peaked VU meters and audio engine who will only output DC. Here´s my first thread on the subject:

However, I have not been able to isolate this issue to a certain plugin.

For some reasons I cannot open the link you provided.

I'm still seeing this issue on the project I'm working on right now, when I bypass the plugins or simply mute the busses where the tracks affected by this are routed, the sound come back. Otherwise the whole audio engine become silent.

When I reboot Sonar 2-3 times tings tend to go back to normal until the next POP.

I'll look further into this soon, cause it's pretty much the only bug I'm experiencing right now. Sonar is on track to become the most solid piece of software I use!

My bad, the link was corrupted. Now it should work fine.

My findings so far:
* Disabling all FX (by the FX button) fixes the problem
* Disabling only all Prochannel strips improves things a lot but the problem is still there.

I found out that the easiest way for me to get Sonar back online after the pop is to disable & enable the FX by using the FX button. Sonar also seems to be able to run a little bit longer without the pop issue.

Same for me, btw. If only this bug gets removed, I would be very happy with Sonar.

Agreed - if this one bug got nailed Sonar would be fantastic for me. Each time a new update comes out I hope it is fixed, but no luck so far. It's hard to nail down. I've tried stripping down projects that exhibit the problem, but I can't find a simple project that will exhibit the issue repeatably. I wonder how else we can track this down?

Noel, if you read this, what can we do to help find this bug?

Cheers, Peter.

Ohhh for the first time I'm able to reproduce this problem 100% of the times!

Please confirm you can do this as well so I can send a problem report.

Here's how I do:

TURN YOUR SPEAKER VOLUME DOWN!
Create a new blank project
Insert an audio track
Insert VX-64 Vocal Strip
Activate the Tube Eq section
Clone that track 4 times

For me, this create the issue everytime!

Please someone confirm it is reproductible, if so maybe cakewalk will be able to find the problem.

It also happen on other occasions than cloning tracks but maybe that will be enough to track the issue!

Mmm I can't reproduce it on Windows 10... it seems to only work in windows 7 so far.... or maybe I broke something else while searching that made the steps above trigger it. I'll need to check back after a reboot

I tried your recipe on Windows 10 (Newburyport) and Windows 7 (Foxboro) and no luck I'm afraid.

If it always happens for you on Win7 but not Win10, there might be a difference between settings in the various ini files.

This is a tricky bug to nail down - I've been chasing it with a hammer for quite a few months now :)
