I recently took advantage of the $99.00 Upgrade offer ("1st 12 months free, additional 12 months $99.00"), but when I go to my membership details it says Membership valid through February 23, 2017. Am I doing my math wrong? Shouldn't my membership be valid  through February 23, 2018? 12 months free plus 12 months additional-2016 + 2 = 2018.

You must have made a mistake somewhere along the way since there is no such offer. 
(Though I remember some discussions a year ago that may have spun things in this direction.)

Although poorly worded/presented that means when you purchase the current version of Sonar for full price (the snapshot of Sonar as it is right now) you get free updates for 12 months. Then when you go to renew your Sonar purchase/membership/subscription for another 12 months it only costs you $99.
 
Yes, that page does kind of... uh... leave much to the imagination but I'm 99% sure that's what that means.
 
For me though I'm curious about DIFFERENT aspect of that. That would be, does anyone buying right now get a locked in upgrade price in 12 months? If that is the case would it have to be CONSECUTIVE (as in the reup must occur immediately upun the lapsing of the previous membership)?
 
Those details are probably in the Special Offer link so I should probably just read that in the meantime.
 
Cake do many things well. Clarity and consistency in their marketing isn't one of them. Then again I'd rather the money they make go to paying the designers and programmers than some slicko ad goon who's only purpose in life is to conjure up ads.
 
Edit: Okay that's not a link. It's a popup thingie you have to hover over for an info bubble... and there are those popups over various areas of that section. After reading those a lot of it isn't making a ton of sense but they don't seem to be implying 2 years for the price of one. Not really sure what they're tyring to convey.

It should add one year after your end date. Since you were on monthly, you completed the 12 months and now own everything. People who purchased last year upfront also had one year but only difference is they paid up front. Now by renewing for $99, you have another year starting on your purchase date. Hope that makes sense.

I upgraded to Pro last Sept. Paid for the year. My script is over in Oct this year. What would be the cost to bump it over to Plat. Or am I better off waiting until script is up?

Ok, so when you upgrade, you'll get one year of updates plus everything you receive on the day of purchase. So thats what it means. So from now through Feb 23rd, 2017, you will continue to receive updates.

You got a snapshot of Platinum as it is (so the past... I guess 13-14 months worth of updates/improvements/tools, aside from a couple one of membership freebies). Now you get 12 months of monthly updates "free".
 
By "free" it's more that you paid for the next 12 months of updates as part of your package. However in the past with the yearly (approximately) release model you would not have gotten any upgrades/updates aside from a few patches.
 
So apply it to X2/X3 (if they had been release exactly a year apart) You would have bought X2 as it's own thing then gotten X3 for free the next year. The difference if it used the new model you would have received X3 in monthly installments over the years instead of in one shot at the end of the year.
 
You also get the option to roll around those monthly updates and use the version that works best for you on your system.

No, I agree it's a great deal. It's what I usually pay for the latest version of Sonar, it's just that the way it's worded, it sounds like a 2 year offer.
