• SONAR
  • Channel Tools POP, then no sound

Using Kingston, every time I add Channel Tools, I get a loud POP, then audio goes completely silent. I have to restart Sonar to get audio working again. This was better in Ipswitch, as I recall, but the demon seems to be back...

Anyone else confirm?

Dan

Are the output meters maxing out when this happens?

Does disabling FX (hit E) fix it temporarily?

Cheers, Peter.

I used to get this exact thing happen frequently, albeit randomly - sometimes it would happen and other times not. I haven't seen this happen for at least the last 2 releases I would say. I think there was an update to Channel Tools a few releases back, not sure if it had something to do with the popping/silent audio issue or not.

Or, on the other hand, I may have just hit a lucky streak with the issue and it just hasn't reared it's head for whatever reason!

Yep. Meters are pegged. I'll try the FX button next time I run into it. I had not had any issues with Channel Tools except for the occasional white screen of death when I tried adjusting things in CT too quickly after instantiating the plugin. I may have to just create a track template with CT included by default...assuming that doesn't cause some new problem.

Yes, I thought there was a fix for CT issues around Ipswitch...or Jamaica Plains. I may revert to one of those as I'm running into all kinds of little issues with Kingston and the release notes for Lexington don't mention fixes for any of them.

This is interesting to me.  I was revisiting some older tunes and after some of them loaded up, I would get this
"pop" and then no audio.  I don't use Channel Tools much, so I can't provide any insight to your particular issue, but I will be interested in where this thread goes.

Hi,

I am having the same issue, very loud POP, VU meters maxing out on the master bus (and sometimes on one of the tracks as well) & no sound.

In my case, this always happen after audio exports but could happen occassionally as well. Changing buffers always fixes it temporarly.

My problem is that I´m not using any of the "known" problem plugs such as VC64 or Channel tools. Will try disabling FX globally.

My inital thread about the issue:

Hello, I am still on X3 and get this problem every time I load channel tools without exception. I have found that changing the preset fixes the problem for that song. Don't know if it will work in Splat though.
