Me too John T. I am a Problem analyst and practice Kepner Tregoe and this has me stumped.

Worse thing is that it is intermittent like 90% of all my Sonar bugs. (Of which there are few but still a problem, let me re-iterate I love Sonar)

My rants on here are usually this way and I just find a work around (sigh), i.e never do the process that got you here in the first place if you can work that out.

This isnt good as we cant work together for root cause analysis.

My problem is that it isnt my job to be doing this for the Bakers as much as I would like to help and I refer you to my Shiny new toys" comment above.

Some errors are kind of like UFOs - people who've seen them are sure they exist, but they can't convince anyone who hasn't seen them.

All I know is that in my case, something with 70 tracks, hundreds of edits, and extreme time pressure would create favorable circumstances for my doing something like hitting an errant keyboard key

So,Ijust made the change again and on playback as intended.

On export it gets weird.

Mad things happen to the WAV thats been imported....So, surely th finger is pointing to the export function and some kind of data stamping on the wavs imported?

Lovely Mr A

If only life were that simple. )

I just re-created it, only this time it introduced a muted clip edit....

I can assure you this isnt human error, of which we all make many!

My point here is not to bug fix in this thread, I will just avoid and work around, its to highlight that there are many more bugs TO fix of which have legacy.

Most of my projects have 100+ tracks in film, with varying bugs.

Music ones have a few with no bugs.

Thats quite an easy pointer.

Shouldnt be the case tho, I have fellows in the industry who can work in film and dont do anything out of the ordinary on PT and have no issues (unless hardware related)

Or as Anderton is saying, the longer I work on a project I randomly press keyboard short cuts unintended.

Lets just leave it at that then. *sigh*

I do have a Sonar Editors Keys keyboard so its probably that!

Interesting.

Do you have any effects on the clip or are you just editing clips, but otherwise playing them back raw?

No, I didn't say that. I said "All I know is that in my case, something with 70 tracks, hundreds of edits, and extreme time pressure would create favorable circumstances for my doing something like hitting an errant keyboard key "

Anyway...which version are you on? There were some export issues that happened after upsampling was introduced if there were tempo changes, but were fixed in a subsequent update.

Is that better for you John? (sometimes I find your style of moderation extremely frustrating, not with me but deffo with others, there are alot of people on here who are experienced and professional and would sometimes like a bit of a rant. This is a community, not a concentration tech camp arena)

Not really I don't know what the problem is. Vaguely it seems you are exporting audio. You say nothing about how you are exporting.

Nor am I sure what actually happened to the "weirdly" exported clip. How is it changed would be a question.

In my post all I was doing was pointing out that two people were having trouble understanding what you were saying. My "style" may not always be a good one but there was no blame or ranker in it. I was asking for a better explanation from you.

That is standard here. If a post is poorly composed and limited in information often the forum will ask for additional information to work with. No one dismissed you or said anything negative. Its a question of simply not having all the facts. Further this is a peer to peer forum. Ranting here is sort of pointless.

Frustration aside if one calmly lays out the issue step by step and gives a recipe to follow it makes it a lot easier to troubleshoot.

Also I was acting as a member the same as you. I was not using hosting in any way. This was all about trying to get at the bottom of the problem so you could go back to work with things properly working for you.

I think he was just kind of laying out that he had some frustrations about some weirdness - and it was just to get it off his chest or out of his head.  I don't get the feeling he was/is interested in debugging this particular weirdness. :)

To the OP - folks were just trying to assist - hope that never happens again to you :)
