I haven't opened the Plug-in Manager in a while, but realized after Craig's post that z3ta+ had two plugins that I hadn't seen the other in a while. I went in and renamed them and decided to do a little sorting, then noticed all of the VST2 plugins are greyed out in the sorter pane (not VST3 or DirectX). They still can be moved/sorted as expected (doesn't seem to be an issue other than appearance) but not sure "why" they are all greyed out. Anyone know how to fix this?

I've seen "greyed out" plugins when Sonar couldn't find the plugin dll where it thought it was supposed to be.
Usually after I did some housekeeping and moved the dlls.
 

I am sorry, should have clarified better. They are all recognized by SONAR (center pane). Where they are grey is in the layout pane on the far right. But, going from what you said I added a few a second time, and they do come up black in the layout pane.
 
The odd part is when I initially opened the Plug-In Manager it was from the Browser, so the list is accurate and works, but no matter how I open it all VST2s are grey (unless I rebuild from scratch, I guess).
 
Edit: I just ran the PIM stand-alone as administrator and is the same, so not sure why.

Have you done a re-scan of existing plugins?
If the last time you scanned, the VTS2 plugs were found, they would stay in the middle pane.
If Sonar can no longer find them, they will be greyed out in the right pane.
 

Hmmm, I do have manual scan set, so tried a full scan of existing, but still didn't work. The other thing I am not sure if is applicable is I launched from the browser, then saved with new name... but if I load a set, only that name and "Platinum Effects" are visible. There is no "Default All Plugins" set (the one I edited from the browser), so not sure where to find it. I am wondering if that default one is write-protected. When I open from the browser and hit "Save" it prompts me for a new name rather than overwriting where it is coming from.
 
Edit: I did a search for *.pgl and there was a file "default.pgl.tmp" in the C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\SONAR Platinum\Plug-in Menu Layouts... I renamed it to lop the .tmp off the end, so it shows in the list and opens, but the VST2s are still grey.
 
I then deleted it, and SONAR created another when opened (default.pgl.tmp), so is reading it from elsewhere.

I have a feeling that default.pgl.tmp is generated on-the-fly (presumably from the inventory in the registry) rather than read as a file from somewhere. As far as I can recall, the only time that I have seen greyed-out plugs in the right hand pane is when the layout file references a plug that is not valid in this version of Sonar. In my case, they were 64-bit plug-ins and I was using 32-bit Sonar on that occasion. I don't know that any of that applies to your case, however.
