good morning everyone, today I see a new update, however, i'm not sure if I downloaded it correctly. I went to command center then clicked download then i was told that the DL is complete. one of the things I saw on a video is the "ADD TRACK" that's supposed to be at the top left of  the track view. I opened a new project but no new feature.
can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong? should I reboot the computer?
thanks

Check which version you've got installed under help > About. The CCC will also post this information.

If you are on Newburyport then you probably need to "widen the gap" in the Track header.

You could comfortably skip this one, I'd say.

Yes, this was mentioned in the main thread about the update (by icontakt.. or however he spells it). If you widen the track controls areas to the right a bit it should expose the new Add Track button. The default width (or if you've manually set it to be narrower) does not accomodate the new Add Track Button.

So hover over the barrier between the track control area (Track Pane) and the Clips Pane until you get the left/right arrow cursor then drag right until the Add Track button appears (at the top of the Track Pane where the Track Control filter lives).

Cheers.

hi again, I seem to be making no progress with Newburyport, the one thing i'm interested in is the new track option, I have widened  the control area, however all I see are the time ruler and the option tab. would this new update install itself on to existing projects or, just on new projects? I have already opened a new project not using any templates but nothing has changed. I gotta tell ya, since "upgrading" to platinum from X2 I have been less then thrilled, I thought all this new stuff was supposed to make life easier?
another thing that has bothered be is, in platinum a VST plugin that was on X1- X2 is no longer there, no, I can't remember the name but I used it on all my guitar tracks, it had a preset called "plexi magic" that was wonderful. I have to open an old computer to find what exactly what it's called. it looked like the VX-64 vocal strip or PX-64 percussion strip. anyway, one problem at a time, right now I would like to know if I installed "Newburyport" correctly and find out where in the hell it is.
I seem to spend more time here then I do actually recording.
thanks

1) Did you check your Help > About page to make sure you are indeed on Newburyport?

2) The only plugs I know of that look like the Vocal and Percussion strip are those two plugs. Are you talking about the VC64 (Vintage Channel) plugin? That was indeed removed after X2. You would have to run an advanced install of your X2 (or earlier) discs/downloads and find it in the pluging list (or install whatever plugin package it came with).

Off the top of my head things that were removed since X1 are the...

VC 64 (Vintage Channel)
V-Vocal
R-Mix
Analyst

There are probably a couple more. There are even more removed since the 8.5 era.

I have X1 to SPlat installed so I've never lost a plug.

Cool. In the first post you made in this thread there is an "Edit" button in the lower right hand corner. If you click that (and it has to be in your first post in the thread) then you can edit the title to include [Solved] or something similar.

On top of that you could click the "Best Answer" button on Bristol Jonesey's post because he actually had the solution. I just elaborated a little.

Cheers!
