Pro.

Windows 10 (Multiple Editions) (x86) - DVD (English-United Kingdom)

This is the ISO I used to install. I burned it to DVD, booted to the DVD, formatted my OS drive and installed clean.

You might ask why I installed the UK edition, and I don't have a good reason. I have an MSDN Subscription, so I could have grabbed any edition including enterprise. I just grabbed that one first. I was interested to learn that there is a minor difference with the USA Version related to privacy.

How is it working for you, Bapu?

I've not gotten to the DAW yet. I'm moving my way up the food chain.

1. Non Critical Computer is done (yesterday) from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro.
2. Non DAW Lappy with Win 7 Home Prem tonight
3. Waiting on disk drive to do an exact clone C: drive for the DAW. Will probably update that next week using THIS PLAN.

Here is a video demonstrating how it's working.

Is anyone else reporting this, or is it just me?

Check you are on the latest firmware.
Go into windows control panel power management advanced, make sure CPU min/Max settings are on 100%

Make sure Sonar is set for multi CPU.
Try it without the 64 bit precision engine.

Get out a copy of latencymon.

Cheers...

I love you for posting, Alex.

I saw your post on the processor thing on another thread and tested it, but it didn't help.

I'm definitely on the latest firmware and driver for the RME, but you are right to call me out for latency Mon. I haven't used it since the rebuild.

But it doesn't happen randomly. I'm running sonar for hours every day despite the problem. It is worst when copying data between projects.

On install, x64 engine was disabled and I had the problem. I now have it enabled and I still have the problem.

I have a UFX that I had been running on Win 8.1 with the latest drivers.
Both FireWire and USB tested to be working with no differences in latency or general operation between either USB or FireWire. In other words that's just as it should be. I normally run in FireWire.
I did an in place upgrade to Win10 and haven't noticed any difference to how it ran in Win 8.1.
I didn't have to do a reinstall of drivers or anything.

So opening two projects at once and copying data between projects you don't get pops in Windows 10, mudgel?

gswitz - do you have a Intel LAN card? If so - definitely run DPC checker and see if you have little spikes. I got this when I updated my Intel drivers recently. I "downgraded" the drivers for my LAN card, and it's fine again.
Maybe the Window 10 drivers (for LAN card or something else) are doing something similar...
