Is it possible to be able to use my keyboard controller to trigger a sample I received from one of the synths included in Cakewalk (sonar) as opposed to just dropping in the sample to a track. It would be nice to use the keyboard to play it in real time along with the click track. I don't want to buy... say the the Kontact engine and then buy the whole sample pack. I have some nice samples. 
 
In other words... how to trigger a sampled hit as opposed to dragging it in the track

There are a variety of ways but this may be the easiest....
 
Drop the sample onto one of the pads in Session Drummer. Refer to the Session Drummer documentation or right-click on a pad to see the notes mapped to the pad. Using this method will play one sample per pad. Any note mapped to the pad will trigger the sample.
