Cocked n' Loaded
Hey everybody- new guy here with a quick question!
So, I have my bands first song (of four) mixed and I'm wondering, along with saving it to the usual cwp extension, is it possible to also save the project as a template I.e. All tracks/fx but without the current audio so that I can drag the files from my next mix into the template. Or can a template file only be created before you starting adding audio?
I thought I'd better ask rather than taking the plunge and losing the work I've just done.
I guess another approach would be to copy, rename the project and delete all the audio?
Cheers :)

Yes, of course you can.

Once you've saved the mix of the first song, delete all the audio and save as a project template.

You might also want to delete any automation as it will all have to be re-done for the next song.

There is the option "Wipe Tracks" in the Tracks Sub-Menu in Track View. This will delete all clips and all automation

i did this years ago... i record my band's practice on a Zoom R16, then open a new file based on the template that has the guitar track tweaks, keyboard enhancements, drum and vocal basics all set up... then I can highlight the 8 tracks from the R16 card and insert them right into the project.  Works slick and saves me lots of time setting up basic comp, EQ, VST for every practice.
