Yes, I know. But I believe users perceive Craig as being on the CW side. At least I do. So, although what he said was absolutely correct, it gave me the impression that CW was saying, "What do you guys think? But please don't say anything negative."
As Andrew pointed out, previews are not intended to ask people what they think but to accommodate those who want more advance notice of what's coming. In that context neither positive nor negative comments make much sense, because I tend to think opinions should be based on experience, not conjecture.
As to whose side I'm on, I've said before, I advocate on behalf of users to Cakewalk, and on behalf of Cakewalk to users. That's how I'm wired. Of course I think SONAR is great, I've used the software for 16 years and accomplished a lot with it. But the folks at Cakewalk will confirm that I can be very critical. Just ask them about my opinions, expressed both publicly and privately, about the Start Screen when it was first introduced, or the de-normalization problems with some of the PC plug-ins.
As to negativity, I have a problem with a lot of what f I read online, by no means only about Cakewalk, where people spout opinions about matters where they have zero experience. I've seen "reviews" on other sites where someone says something "sucks" based on reading a
press release, for chrissakes.
I'm sick of the general negativity of the internet. If I was an alien civilization and my only knowledge of earth was reading the Comments sections on YouTube, I'd decide the universe would lose
nothing by just blasting the place into oblivion

I didn't think it was such a bad idea to give people a sneak preview of the features or the ezines ahead of time. I thought based on the past feedback it would be welcome.
Either way people will complain. Those who want to know what's coming up will be upset if you stop doing previews. Speaking as a user, though, I would prefer having previews. Then again, I'm the kind of person who actually shows up at movies in time to catch all the previews.
