The was confusion in several places.  The website has now been fixed.

Ah well, I will take advantage of the offer, but I am particularly peeved that I have been led to believe, and budgeted for, an end of March deadline.
I know $99 is peanuts to most people, but that extra month I thought I had made it so much easier to work with.

Yeah I am kind of in the same boat. Bought some used gear that I was afraid to wait on and planned to take advantage of the $99 offer before the end of March. Now I am up in the air on what I am going to do.

I honestly think Cakewalk should swallow their pride and take their error like a man - extend the deadline to end if March. After all, it wasn't the users' mistake.

I guess "Add one year..." discount was thought for "early adopters", with reasonable one month grace period. And not as money saving feature in terms of "I can skip 2 months and loose nothing" (either at the beginning of the last year or this year).

I know in most cases "special actions" are prolonged and not cut, but in this case that make sense.

Also "usual" price (in other online shops) is less then $30 more.

I have continued my subscription so no missed payments and a catch-up after two months from. I appreciate what you say, but that is NOT what cakewalk has been emailing me since late December. Changing the goalposts at the eleventh hour is a bit sneaky, as it was CW's error after all.

Surely it's just an arbitrarily set date anyway?
But I moved quickly - I got mine - unnecessary panic, though.

Arbitrary is fine, if it is not duplicitous. What I find difficult to accept is the glaring mistake where two different dates are bandied about, then with 2 weeks notice, the final decision is called to use the earlier date.
