Hello,
I purchased Sonar Platinum in August 2017. I never did acquire the "CA-2A" compressor plugin before the shutdown and then the acquisition by BandLab. I have heard a lot about this plug through these forums and I would love to have it.

I "think" I know the answer to my question but I wanted to make sure. It doesn't appear through my google searching that there is anywhere that I can purchase this plug? Is this correct?  If this is the case, do you think that BandLab will offer this plug-in in the future?

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

If you have patience, I highly expect this to be a separate purchase from CbB.

Hope the price is reasonable for you. I use that thing on every vocal channel in my projects. Best plugin the bakers ever baked.

I agree with mettelus.

I doubly agree with Sidroe. It is a fantastic plug in. I also use it on every vocal channel. I also use it on almost every DI bass channel, too.

Does that mean CA-2A isn't part of the Bandlab Cakewalk free offering?  I'm still on the last old Cakewalk version and CA-2A is my goto pro channel comp. Wasn't old Cake giving it away for free?  At least for a little while?

Thanks for the responses. I will certainly will be patient and wait on BandLab and looking forward to the future. I was worried after purchasing Sonar that 6 months later, Cakewalk went under. Then noticing on top of that, I had missed the opportunity at not only purchasing CA-2A but I missed a "free" opportunity of getting it as well.  But thanks again to everyone!

xiwix:  My research indicated that yes, upon first release in SPLAT that it was free for a while. Afterwards it could be purchased. If you already have SONAR installed on your computer, all your plugins will move over to BandLab automatically is my understanding as well. So if you have CA-2A, it should migrate with all your other plugins.  I have not installed BandLab yet. But will eventually.

This is incorrect. It was first released as a paid-for add on, called PC2A. It was later updated to CA2A, which is essentially the same thing, but with the addition of side-chaining. There have been various offers and deals on it over the years, but it wasn't part of the standard bundle.

It's a shame there's currently no way to buy it, it's really good, as others have noted.

Correct, it has never been bundled with Platinum, but it was offered for free as a standalone download for a while.  Then for sale later.
