In the edit preferences section.  I only have 16, I need 64 at least.  How do I add them?

Thanks
Dan

How many ouputs does your interface have? AFAIK Sonar will recognize and output to all outputs available to it.

Dependent upon the I/O you are using...

Uh... okay well I had to actually go look that up for ya to found out how many outputs it had (apparently it's a 4 in/4 out device but can be daisy chained).

You are not going to get anywhere near 64 analog output channels (unless maybe you have a bunch of them chained together... and even then I doubt it).

1 hardware output on the device = 1 hardware output in Sonar

You are limited to what your interface can physically send/receive (aside from maybe internal loopback stuff).

If this is a purely MIDI question... that's different but selecting all the MIDI ports available on the device will make them available to Sonar and anything else hooked up to the device.

Soooooo.... more info is definitely needed here IF you have some wacky setup that could possibly allow for 64+ hardware outputs from that device.

Cheers.

I'm not convinced we understand the full question. How about a little more information.

What are you exactly trying to do? I can't see why anyone need 64 outputs, except if you need like 30 stereo monitor mixes or have a lot of hardware. Please explain, and maybe you'll get a solution.

Maybe it's about adding MIDI ports...not sure if this is about audio or MID, though.

I need coming from my computer edirol um3x to allow a midi instrument from each out put , for instance I have 2 jv1010 rolands and a yahmaha rack mount, plus a tchelicon voice live, I used to have 16 outputs for each channel on each midi device until the computer repair shop ran mal ware software and now only 16 from my akai EIE remain.

thanks

I am a bit confused.

I understand you have an Akai audio interface, and the Edirol midi interface.  I guess you are for some reason post-computer shop now limited to a single midi port?  (This giving you 16 midi channels)?.  And, am I correct that because you had a total of 4 midi devices connected, you are counting the 16 midi channels for each port to give you the 64 channels you used to have?

So can't you reinstall whatever drivers got messed up (the edirol um3x?)?

Please do explain about what you apparently used to do, and what you are now trying to accomplish, so that we can better help you.

Thanks,
