I think the driver for the Edirol UM3X Midi interface is missing. It has three independent midi outs and ins.
Together with the midi out of the akai you should have 4x 16 Channels = 64 midi channels to select.
 
Please check in your computers hardware settings if the driver for your edirol midi interface is installed correctly.
What kind of OS do you use? Win7, Win8, Win10?
Maybe to reinstall the driver could help. The latest drivers are for Win8. They should with Win10 too.
