I must have sloppy hands, because when I'm editing I often drag many tracks worth of clips around and will accidentally nudge everything up or down a track, which I don't notice until I play it back and I'm all like "holy cow what the heck just happened to my track?!"

I don't know what I would do without Crtl +Z/Undo

Well actually I do...and it wouldn't be pretty!

My audio monitors and RME Interface are on power switch. My computer monitor is not.

So, sometimes I sit down at the DAW to do updates. Don't need monitors and interface for that.

The I want to audiotion the update (drum libraries, new VSTs etc.). Fire up Platinum.

%#%@&^#%$@^* I forgot to turn on the audio monitors and interface.

My personal favorite is troubleshooting why I can't hear anything when I first start up, only to realize the VS-700 master fader was all the way down from completing a fadeout in my previous session.

I have plenty more.

Craig,

In my case that would produce better sound than if the fader were up. Gonna have to try that.

My Noworkflow:
1. Turn on computer, three monitors, two speakers and two keyboards
2. Launch Sonar
3. Read Sonar popup message informing me that there's no audio interface present
4. Sigh, roll eyes, slap forehead, curse, or some combination of these
5. Exit Sonar
6. Turn on audio interface
7. Launch Sonar

Ah, I see skinnybones does not have a surface controller like  I do (which I forget to mention is on the same power lines as interface).

8. set control surface.
9. Shut down SONAR
10. Start SONAR

IIRC I just turned on the interface and said no to the dialog box. Everything worked without having to restart Sonar. I'm too new to know if that is a good idea or not!

I spent 10 minutes in my studio this morning pre-rehearsel checking cabling to and from my guitar amp, effects processor, guitar, studio monitors and just about every thing else that might result in total silence. Of course had I turned my mixer on in the first place it might have all worked sooner.

I forget to turn on the audio interface so often, resulting in having to turn Sonar off then on again, that unless I'm tracking and need the extra inputs, I now use an 'always on' USB powered interface to obviate the issue.

Record guitar part (new riff) free form without a click
Record drums bass lead guitar sing then....

Re-record it all against a click so I can tighten up performance against the grid but wishing I could have the groove of the loose first try.

I do this over and over because I have no minions to just play it with me.
