My normal MO, is to have Sonar set to only allow one open project at a time...however I notice in playlist mode, this option has the tick removed and is greyed out..

Now if I set up say, 30 songs in a Playlist, every one of them stays in the background underneath the current CWP...is there a way to tell Playlist mode to delete the project when loading the new one?

Thanks

On my setup the songs unload after playing, except in certain cases where automation causes the song to "think" that something has changed and stays loaded, waiting for you to decide whether or not you want to save the changes.

thanks - seems that is not how it is working for me. Each new CWP loaded to play just loads over the top of the previous one. I wonder what setting can get it to unload the previous CWP before loading the new one?

Does each song ask whether or not you want to save changes after being played on the playlist?

Wow, that's weird. Not at all like it works on my system.

Hey Joden.
The check box for loading only one project at a time is always deactivate and greyed out when the play list is active as the play list always loads the next project whilst the current one is playing.

I had exactly the same issue recently after upgrading (I don't remember which version) Jcody is right- Sonar is seeing the project that you had open as changed. It will indicate this with an asterisk next to the project name.  The unlikely culprit for me was Breverb vst.  Once I worked out what was causing the project changed indication the good folks at Cakewalk fixed the issue with the next update

What version of Sonar are you Using? Is it happening on all projects? Is there a plugin common to all projects not closing? Are you using a control surface?

Sorry Joden -  just saw your last response.  May not be your issue at all. Just checkfor the asterisk next to the project name to confirm.

No, no asterix on any of the CWP's  - Using Lexington. Not using any control surface, there are some common plugs in both Pro Channel and tracks, however as there are no asterixes I am assuming they are being "released". No, it's simply Sonar keeping a played CWP in the background behind the currently playing one.

I have not ventured out live yet with the Playlist tool (still just using MP3 tracks) as I have a feeling that once there are several CWPs in the background (even IF Sonar reckons they have no effect) IMO they must still consume some resources. On a laptop, this could cause issues that, in a studio, create no real big deal, but live would be rather awkward
