  • ANNOYANCE: Working With 2 Different Sampling Rates

Hello,
I am currently moving stuff out of one project file into another (both open at once), but one is in 44.1 and other is in 96 Khz.
Every time I just move the mouse and click into each project, it actually shifts my audio interface in and out of sampling rates causing the GUI to lock up for about 2 seconds.  Nothing is playing.

Is there anyway to stop Sonar from touching my audio interface when switching between projects?

Thank You!

You might try disconnecting your interface.

Alternatively, you could open the project you want to move the files into and move them from the browser.

I need the interface plugged in because I do need to play back things here and there as I move them between projects.

The browser thing makes it hard too because I basically am copying entire tracks with automation.

SONAR needs to be ready to to play when you switch between two projects since you could have synths or input monitoring enabled. If they are at different sample rates the only way that can be done is by switching sample rate on the hardware, which happens after a few seconds of switching. It switches only if the transport is not running in the first project. The only way you can avoid this is to disconnect the interface as noted.
In the future we may implement dynamic sample rate conversion which would allow switching without SRC changing.
