  • Trying to create a "Feedback FX send" in Sonar Platinum.

I've tried the following to create a feedback loop with reverb.

Back in the days of recording with a console, this was possible by using regular console channels as effect returns and then use the FX send on that channel to have controllable feedback into the reverb. However it's something I've not been able to do in Sonar. I thought I could use Aux Tracks or Patch Points to do this, and have tried to recreate a similar routing, but I can't seem to do so.

Here's what I did in Sonar:

Track 1 sending to Bus with reverb
Output of Bus to Track 2 via Patch Point

My intention was to then create a send on track 2 back to the bus with the reverb plugin, but the bus cannot be selected (it's not shown as a possible send on the Track 2). Is there any way I can do this in Sonar?

For information: I'm running the Manchester release of Platinum.

I don't believe what you are trying to do is intrinsically possible in Sonar e.g. feedback loops but I don't know for sure. Maybe Metaplugin or Bidule might allow you to do this in a round about way. I haven't used either one though. Delay fx offer inherent feedback control. Other than that I have nothing to offer but thought a post might draw someone else's attention who might have a suggestion.

To create a feedback loop using SONAR I route the signal out and back into SONAR. Not sure it is possible any other way.
