Looking for a video or help with editing out the silence spots (Linear timeline), OUT of a live recording thats roughly 25 min. long. I took four song snipets for demo purposes out of that piece, its 20 sec. silence then 1:20 sec. of audio , then silence till next usable track piece, say also 1:30 sec.of music,  then silence for 3 min. or so , then another clip of music around 1:20 sec. the 10 minutes of silence etc. etc.
I cannot master how to edit on the time line a consistent 'no space empty with silence', just a stright timeline with snipets of songs back to back.   Thanks anyone...

I did upgrade to Sonar Platinum recently too. Wins 10, on a Dell XPS8400, great work station, fully loaded, soundcard is Fireface 800.

So, you can use bounce to tracks for selected regions. Use markers to define the region, select the tracks to bounce then click the timeline between the markers. Click bounce to tracks.

Export the bounced clip.

Do this repeatedly for each song. Then burn your CD.

You can also delete special and delete hole, but I rarely use that function myself.

Hi. Is this a multitrack recording, or a stereo track (summed)?
If stereo, I would split clips and move to separate tracks (new tracks will be created if you drop to an empty track), space them with properly (depending on music style etc) and work from there. If multitracks, there are several options regarding how this can be done.
All the best.

if I'm understanding this right, it's like when I record our band practice and edit out the time between songs, then render the mix to a file with just our music?  I just split the tracks after the song, maybe add a fade, split at the start of the next song, delete the unwanted time, move the rest of the files over, go to the end of the next song, split... and so on.
