How to tell if Sonar 32bit or 64bit is installed?

I know there is something/somewhere posted here about this, and I forgot where?

After installing 8.5 64 bit (and all the updates) then deleted it and then installed the 32bit version(updates)
then re-installed.....then un-installed......then and then.....lol ..........I forgot what version I have on my laptop.

So.....How do tell if it's a 64bit or 32 bit version that I have installed?

Again....... thanks,

Michael

I have both installed and it says (32 or 64) on the icons on my desktop.  I suppose yours doesn't though, cause that's too easy...

Thanks Janet, this won't help me....:)

I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop with both Sonar 8 and Sonar 8.5......That's all I have on mine.

I sorta figured it wouldn't... sorry.    I'm curious to know the answer too though...

I also have both versions installed. IIRC the 64-bit version's icon will say "Sonar 8.5 Producer Edition (x64)" ( I shortened Producer Edition to PE so that I could read which was which--otherwise it will say "Sonar 8.5 Produ..." for both until one is highlighted.
I also changed the icons to further distinguish which was which, and altered the splash screens (adding "32-bit" to that version, etc.).
I installed the 64-bit version first, and I'm pretty sure it said x64 even when it was the only one installed.
Another way to tell: right-click on your Sonar icon, open the Properties window and click on "open file location". If it's in Program Files (x86) it's 32-bit. 64-bit would be in Program Files.
Hopefully this will clear it up.
BTW, why did you uninstall--whichever version you uninstalled? They can both coexist peacefully on the same machine.

Both v.8 and v.8.5 show up in Program Files x86   which indicates they are both  32 bit.

Thanks.......

And when you upgrade to 8.5.3, the installer asks if you want to install 32 or 64 bit versions. You have to remember the installed version whether it is 32-bit or 64 bit. The updater fails to check it for the user, but had to ask the user. That is strange. A computer software should help not hinder.

If you can't tell which version by looking at the desktop icon, just hover the mouse over the icon and check the location for either "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)".

You could check the Windows folder. Should have a SysWOW64 folder.

Jeez I entered the above at @ 4:00a.m. - I guess I was sleep walking! I remember getting up for some water...
Now I have to go see what else I may have posted.

But to answer...you could go to insert>plug-ins and see if any 64 bit's are there.
