This healing functionality already exists. Select the two (or more) clips by Ctrl-clicking or lassoing, and then Ctrl-click one of them with the Comp tool.
 
 

That works. Thank you. A dedicated heal tool would still be nice but this covers the problem I was initially talking about. My main need was to heal unnecessary comping splits I had created at the start of the comping process. As in I slice up the entire song into little chunks before auditioning everything but many times there will be long sections that covers multiple splits that do not need any comping. When that happens I want all the splits across all the takes to go away... which this does.
