Afraid the Dell Inspiron 5770 laptop I ordered does not have expansion slot, so I'm not able to add a FireWire interface.
 
I do have a Tascam US-144mkII interface that I used with my old laptop, so this should tide me over for now. The Focusrite looks like a good choice.

Get a focusrite. I have the 6i6.love it… 


+1 to this.
 
I use a 2i2 on my laptop, a 6i6 in my "bedroom" studio, and a 18i20 in my main studio.
 
They're all excellent.
