So, somewhere along the line, Perfect Space is no longer part of my SONAR plug in arsenal.  Not that I loved it but I do have a ton of speaker IRs that are quite good with which I used to use perfect space.

My questions:

1) Is perfect space gone?
2) Did the bakers replace it with another tool that can load 3rd party IRs?

I own and use ALTIVERB 7 (overkill for the stated needs) and am trying to avoid using it just for speaker cab IRs.  I can purchase REcabinets product for this use but was wondering if there would be a free method for this?

Thanks,
Jim

Rematrix Solo allows you to import IRs. I have Rematrix so I haven't used the solo version ...

You can also still use PerfectSpace if you'd like by installing it from a previous version of SONAR. Just do an advanced install and remove all the check marks in the item list except PerfectSpace.

Thank you Scott... so do you know what version of SONAR was the last to include PERFECT SPACE, anyone?

According to this thread Perfect Space was available at least between Sonar 8.0 and Sonar X3.

PerfectSpace and Rematrix Solo handle IR's differently. They definitely do not sound the same. PerfectSpace seems to localize the effect of the IR based on the panning of the incoming signal, whereas ReMatrix Solo does something a little different. Which one you want really depends on the IR and effect you are going for. In summary, I still use both...

Good input.  I couldn't find ReMatrix so I looked it up.  It appears to be part of PRO CHANNEL which I NEVER use (as a matter of fact, I wish there was a way to not include it in the base product).

So, perhaps now, I will check out ReMatrix and see how it does loading in the IRs of guitar and bass cabinets that I like.

Thanks again for all your help,
Jim

I have found Melda Mmultibandconvolution to be a good replacement for Perfect Space. One big advantage is its true stereo. Perfect Space wasn't. Another feature is it can use any IR simply and easily. Its highly configurable.

I upgraded from Perfect Space to Pristine Space a long time ago, but sometimes Perfect Space was, well... perfect. Quicker to set up, lighter on the CPU, what's not to like. These two were my goto convolution reverb.

This past winter I picked up Reverberate 2, and overall I do like it better. I am still learning, so I still use the Voxengo plugs when I am in a hurry. But I really like Reverberate 2, and I suggest, to any that ask, that they download the demo and take it for a spin...
