Hi!

Sometimes on video tutorials for Sonar I see that users have musical instrument icons on the bottom of the channel strips.  This could be useful to me to see a picture instead of looking for the text labeling I currently use.  I have X3 studio and would appreciate somebody telling me how this is done.

Thanks in advance!

Hi. If you right click on the track icon, you should see "load track icon". They default in C:Cakewalk Content/SONAR (your version), Track Icons.
All the best.

OK, but is this on the channel strip (where I'd right click) or the track in the sequencer view (timeline)?
Thanks

You should be able to do both in Track View and Console View (in X3), I think.
I did this in track view
All the best.

Also, once you set the icon in one view (track or channel strip), it will show up in the other view, as well.

Pretty slick!

You can make your own jpegs of your own instruments and use them as well. I use a pic of my own steel for pedal steel tracks. I use custom made ones depending on which guitars/bass I use.

That's cool, but I had to go into the "Modules" menu, then saw ICONS at the bottom of the menu. Could not see the load Icons menu right clicking on channel.
You guys got me pointed in the right direction, though.  Thanks!
