Don't want to be picky, but I am not sure the 1176 had any valves, it was solid state.

Actually, it is quieter than the real thing.

It's an Easter egg, it turns the backlight on the PC4K buss compressor as Scook already pointed out, that's it.. To the best of my knowledge, it does nothing on the PC76.


That was my understanding as well. Seems like it first appeared for the PC4K in X2? I would say, though, it would be cool to have the backlight come on automatically when the time on your computer shows 6PM to 7AM.
