Hi all,

Is there anyway of getting SONAR's "Snap to scale" feature to work in real-time (as you play keys from your keyboard) rather then using the Mouse? I see no reference to such use in the Manual so suspect not but does anyone know of a program that can do this?

I see CUBASE, FRUITY LOOPS, ABLETON live have such features.

Does anyone know of any midi plugs that will do this within SONAR?

The Transpose plug-in can do that. Select "key/scale" and "constrain to scale". Note that the raw input gets recorded, so you'd have to "apply MIDI effects" from the process menu to make it permanent. HTH

You can turn on Input Quantize so that Sonar quantizes as you're recording.

That would be super cool if it would affect incoming notes. Maybe in S8? Send Cakewalk a feature request.

Oh yea... Man ashamed I should have thought of that.

Seems like a logical place to add a check box option "Snap to scale on input" in the advance settings of the "Input Qauntise". Would be cool to see it added.

This is an ancient thread and AFAIK there are snap to scale input options on MIDI tracks. I'd have to double check though. I never use them (and if it's forced on my I select chromatic).
