Hi Guys I`m trying to do a simple preset change in TH2 within sonar while playing the guitar live ,but I cant find How to do it.
I can automate any parameter in any module but cant find how to change a preset .
Can it be done?
Thanks

TH2 responds to MIDI patch changes. See page 22 of the TH2 manual. When I tested it, the preset loaded was off by one from the patch change number. This is not how the documentation says it should work but MIDI patch changes do trigger TH2 preset change.

Thanks scook but i`v been trying to do that for 2 days with no luck.
The TH2 has 2 options to set it as a soft synth or as a audio plugin.
I`ll keep trying thanks

Starting with X3 there is no need to mess with the VST Plug-in properties "Enable as plug-in" and "Configure as synth." TH2 is an effect plug-in and should be setup with "Enable as plug-in" checked.

After inserting TH2 into a track. Click the VST2 drop down in the header and select Enable MIDI Input
Add a MIDI track with the input set to your controller and the output set to TH2.
Set TH2 to use either factory or user presets.

To test I added patch changes directly in the Event View. Patch change 0 corresponds to TH2 sound 00 variation 1. In TH2 Producer factory settings this this is called TH2  Starter > The Clean. Patch 1 is TH2 Starter > The Lead and so on. For example 13 is Pop Lover > Atmosphere.

That is exactly what  i wish to do, insert patch changes in the event view ,so when for example the solo comes it changes to the preset i want.
I did exactly like you suggested but its not responding to the changes.I must be doing something wrong somewhere.
In the patch setting what should i use normal ,control 0,control 32 or patch 100?
In the bank option i only have like _ and bank 0 which one should i use?
Thanks for your patience.
Peace

Try this
  • Create a new project
  • Add an audio track
  • Add TH2 Producer to the fx bin
  • Select "Enable MIDI Output" from the VST2 drop down at the top of the TH2 UI.
  • Add a MIDI track
  • Set the MIDI output to TH2
  • Open the Event List
  • Add an Event
  • Change the Event Kind to Patch Change
  • In the Bank/Change dialog set the patch to 1
  • Add another Event
  • Change MBT to measure 2
  • Change patch to 13
  • Make sure the Track View option menu "Stop at Project End" is not selected
  • Start Transport

TH2 should immediate change to 00.2
At measure TH2 should change to 01.4
