To whom it may concern,

I have an Cakewalk. A-800 Keyboard. After I updated to Manchester My MIDI does not work.  Let me clarify that.  The keys on my keyboard don't work.  Control Suface works. So, I believe I can send MIDI, but the Keyboard black and white piano keys don't work.  Any Ideas?

Hi. If you look in Preferences (P), MIDI, Devices (in SONAR), do you see your A-800? If not, are you able to add it?
Best of luck.

Like Zargg71 says, look in Pref | MIDI devices.
Make sure your 800 is checked as a MIDI -IN device.

I even tried the virtual Controller Keyboard that Cakewalk Sonar comes with.

Can you get sound by loading a soft synth and clicking on the notes in the piano roll?

How is Midi getting from your A-800 into Sonar? Describe the signal chain including the type of connectors used.

Can you see Midi activity in a Midi track?

Is the A-800 transmitting on the correct Midi channel?

Is there a parameter on the Roland keyboard (something like "Midi Parameters") that may be improperly set ?
I know that on a Roland E-09 there's a parameter "MIDI TxRx" that sets the keyboard to send only control messages, only keyboard notes, both, etc.

Do you have Input Echo enabled for your midi or instrument track ?

Do you see any meter activity on the track ?

Is the Input to your track set to your keyboard ?

Hey,  I just figured out a part of it.  When I hit the key hard I hear something.

Is there some kind of input key velocity adjustment that can be made?

That would probably be on your A-800

Look for velocity curves or similar
