I've never used prosonus stuff before. but it always seems to get good reviews on the net. You could do a google search, reviews usually list pros and cons, so that might give you a chance to see if this unit will do what you need.
 
Lastly, I think if you now you're looking for opinions on a piece of hardware, rather than a question on how to operate software, that I might make a whole new post to that effect.  The guys on this forum have used EVERY piece of gear imaginable and I bet you'll get a lot of helpful input.

Thanks again guys! New problem here.... when I'm testing my mic through the scarlett solo, I am BARELY getting any sound out of it... I have the input gain maxed out, and the "halo" around the knob barely turns green when im hitting the MIC. any ideas? it is a cheap mix, through xlr-xlr cable

What kind of mic are you using? It could be a dynamic mic, which needs a lot of gain..

Do you have phantom power on?

phantom power on/off makes no difference.

Does the solo have a power supply for a wall? If using USB power, phantom power may not have enough umph to drive a condenser mic.

It should. That mic ad says it need 48v. With 48v you should have way more than enough for the halo to go into the red, about half way up on the knob.
 
I  had a Solo for a while and powered it  from USB with mo issues FWIW.
