I have Editor 2 and have been waiting to see how Melodyne 4 is working out.  Over at Gearslutz it hasn't been very well received so I'm wondering if people here have found it working good/worthwhile to upgrade or hold fast for the time being.  I'd probably upgrade to Studio 4 from Editor 2 and get the full upgrade.
Thanks...

I installed an upgrade from Editor 2 to Studio 4 last night.  It went very smoothly.  I tried it out on a track and it seemed to work fine.  Lot more testing to do though.  HTH

I have not been able to get the trial to install, which may have been a blessing in disguise. After seeing issues/features that have not been clearly explained by a company that just removed its forum (Celemony), I refuse to relinquish a license (Editor 2) on good faith to an untested (by me) platform.

There is no hurry anyway, as the upgrade offer is good until 4/30.

I'm holding back too... I've really not read a lot of rave reviews about it....just people gawking over the list of new features.  I'd sure like to hear some people put it to use in the Songs Forum and see how it spins.  My Editor 2 is pretty nifty as is.  It's not like I have a zillion songs that some guitar player laid the first track on, and couldn't keep time....and then I want to add MIDI drums.  THAT seems to be the big feature many are talking about.

I have plenty of crashes, none related to Melodyne 4, I suppose. I am on Essential, Celemony effectively discouraged me from upgrading to Editor with $400 tag. I have an impression that M4 is "more confident" when it comes to pitch detection/correction, it goes much more smoothly, I like it. Other people say tempo detection is even much better but I don't use it/ need it so see if that is what you need. Celemony pricing really make no sense for me, I would hold upgrading unless multi instances are important for you.

I just paid $125 to go from Editor 2 to 4. I get crashes if I leave melodyne on as a region effect when I save. I don't know if this happened on Editor 2, but otherwise I'm not getting crashes. I think I paid $150 to go from essentials to Editor, so to have the full blown Studio for $275 has left me feeling pretty happy. If you want to take advantage of this offer, I would say go for it. Even if you are concerned about some stability issues, you could take advantage of the offer and sit on it for a few months, whilst some issues are ironed out.

The sound design stuff is worth it for me. Especially more subtle use. Has so much potential for creative use and for helping mix sounds in. I've not used the timing stuff yet, but that's a great tool to have in the box.

My only reservation would be for those on Studio 2, in that you loose 'some' of the Audio to Midi functions such as pitch bend data. If you don't use this and don't envisage using it, then that's not a problem. (You still get Audio to MIDI note and velocity data).

Melodyne won't do anything further with the 2 series, but they will develope and fix anomalies, and any work cake do from now on, I can only imagine will be with Series 4 integration, though they may still have positive benefits for Series 2.

I'm so glad I took advantage of the window in upgrading from Essential to Editor, that the same opportunity to get Studio was a no brainier, especially as it was my birthday at the time

I'm using (or trying to use) Melodyne Essential 4 but SONAR crashes every time I try to use it.
Is anyone else here having issues with Melodyne Essential 4?
