I couldn't find a manual to download on the Celemony site, and I've read that there's no big manual available in the installed version. Is hat right? Maybe I just need to spend more time with the Help Center.

That is true Mitch - there is no manual. You certainly can find all of the information you need on their website, but I too am a fan of written manuals, and not writing one seems to be a disturbingly common and lazy trend.

I have Sonar Platinum, and just upgraded from 3 to 4.

I am glad I did.  Of biggest interest to me personally is the new algorithms - for example the sustain poly. The new algorithms really give you additional angles to work with if you need to reach in a chnge something beyond a straight note. For example, I had a 1+1 recording, guitar and voice.  There is some bleed into the vocal microphone.  And there was a particular syllable  that was slightly off pitch. With one of the new algorithms I was able to reach in and fix it.  Doing that in version 3 was much more iffy.

They seemed to have added polish all around.  For $99, well worth it I fell.

I have upgraded from Editor 2 to Studio 4 and it seems to be working well for me. I have spent quite a few hours on several projects and no problems so far.
There have been some issues with the way multiple track editing, in the one Melodyne window, is functioning (or has been advertised to work, I'm not sure now) inside Sonar. There are some other threads related to this. Certainly the 'stand alone' version has a slightly different feature set than the 'plugin' version at this point in time.
I also believe Sonar (and maybe Melodyne as well) are still working on the ARA functionality, and this will improve over time.
This is one of only a few 'plugins' that I use outside of the ones that are included with Sonar and I have been nothing but impressed with it since its release.

Reading this thread, It sounds like there may be a problem with Melodyne 4 when opening/using a project that had Melodyne 2 treated tracks. For new projects, it sounds like there is less of an issue (or none at all)?

How did some of you get Studio 4 (from Editor 2) for $126?

Thanks

Melodyne 4 keeps crashing Sonar Platinum

Mmmm no, not for me. So far so good

Cheers,
J
Edit : i bought an upgrade in the first couple of days to v4 Editor, when there was no upgrade path to Studio. Celemony then sent ma a mail offering a special upgrade price from v4 Editor to v4 Studio.

One thong i did do : uninstall v2 completely before the upgrade .

But it still doesn'.t crash Sonar.........

+1 on being a bit irritated that it doesn't have a manual (with an index!!!)
