Sonar X1 does not seem to be working with Izotope Stutter. It seems to be setup correctly but it does not receive midi and there is no where that I can see to get the midi to play Stutter. The instructions reference the old Sonar 8.5 which I can figure out in X1 except for when it lets you choose the Izotope midi. If anybody has gotten this to work, let me know.

Ok, so I searched online and found this fix works at least for me. First I have to thank:
Rusty Glessner and MMNielson for this fix.

ou may need to manually force Stutter Edit to be listed as a VSTi plug-in for Sonar. You can do this by following these steps:  1.) Open the registry editor by typing 'Regedit' in the "Start (menu) - 'Search programs and files' (dialog box)"

2.) Navigate in the registry editor to the following directory:

3.) Computer\HKEY_Current_User\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory\c:/program files/cakewalk/vstplugins/iZotope Stutter Edit.dll  That one still had "0" under the "isSynth" value.  I changed that to "1", went back in to Sonar, and Stutter Edit appeared in the Soft Synth list.

4.) Once this value is changed, please load Sonar and attempt to load Stutter Edit within the Soft Synth menu for the FX window.

P.S. Don't worry about the x86 one if your on 64bit because that one seems to be right. Just follow up above.

Does this not achieve the same result as bringing up the VST Plugin Properties dialog box and ticking the "Configure as Synth" option?

It didn't work when I tried it. In fact, it was not even shown to be available to me. That is the reason for this work around. I have Sonar Expanded 64bit.

I have to update my signature line.
