The bad news is my PCR 800 keyboard, which is just connected to a USB port is no longer working.

Oh dear... What if you connect it to your D-C via MIDI cable? I'm guessing it will need a power supply though. I've got the PCR-300, as well as a Q-C.

Might have to ditch the PCR for a newer model...

I just ordered a power supply for $8 on Amazon. It's always good to have.

I can't say I blame you...

Good idea... I'm probably going to do the same when I finally upgrade to W10...

UA11 MKII works under windows 10 with the 8.1 driver...

I THINK NOT!!

I just checked on the link http://www.roland.com/support/support_news/250024 and was appalled at the number of perfectly good products that Roland are not going to support under Windows 10!
 ...

Their list seems a bit "lite" at the moment -
a LOT of gear is not even mentioned at all!

Concerned about driver and app support for my Integra-7 and AX Synth.
Already know my trusty old (and still in daily use!) UM-550 MIDI interface is taking a hit, at least according to their site.

Things are running pretty well on my Windows 8.1 machine, which I just built at the first of the year.
Even thought Win 10 is a free upgrade, I might stick with something I know is working...

This includes my own UA25-EX which is an excellent audio interface that Roland have no excuse for dropping.

Unless things change, it will be the last product I ever buy from them.

You might find you will be utterly disgusted with a number of other manufacturers that may be taking up the same strategy as well ..... You better stick with your current OS and start lobbying Roland...

My view if they discontinue they should make the drivers open source, whereupon they may end up being better than ever in the end. Here's to hoping...

I wonder how many of the Roland products that they currently state will have no support for Win10 have drivers that were written by third parties under contract. Roland may not have the source code and would have to rely on, and pay, their driver subcontractors for Win10 support.

One of the reasons I replaced my audio i/f with a Tascam is that they have brought their driver development in-house, to avoid issues like this, and more generally, bug/incompatibility fixes. Third parties have little to no incentive to fix their work. They get paid X to do Y. You want bug fixes? Give them a new purchase order.

Plus, software subs come and go like the teenage hookers on Kalakaua Ave in Waikiki Beach.

I've learned my lesson the hard way. Make fargin' sure your hardware vendor has complete control over supporting software development and support.

No new drivers at the site for Edirol PCR midi boards. Haven't tried it yet but maybe they will work with W8.1 drivrs.

Nope. I tried and I'm NOT happy.

Then again, they only had half a year to get drivers ready. Each driver would have taken 4 minutes to change to allow installation on Windows 10.

Roland did the same thing with 8 and 8.1 drivers.  Some were ready on release day, others were put online over the next few weeks.
Yes, it stinks IMHO.  They had better do the VS 100 and 700.

+1

I wouldn't read too much into Roland's published listing yet. Just consider that Microsoft hasn't changed much about the hardware driver model in Windows 10 as compared to Windows 8.1 or even Vista. So, in theory, it shouldn't take much more than Roland updating their drivers to 'recognize' Windows 10 as a valid OS version.
OS version checking is something that pretty much became obsolete after Windows XP. However, for some reason Roland insists on making extra work for themselves. I suspect that the hardware design folks at Roland are probably now just using it as a form of job security.
