i hope i have a screenshot of what i'm doing, as you can see ALL the vox tracks are muted, however, i still hear them. i'm at a loss, it's very late. i just looked at the screenshot, i think in order to see it you need to open it in another tab.
i need to learn how to record without the take lanes, the way it is now i can't work on anything.
please let me know what you all think

Interesting. What happens if you archive them?

Here's the pic for post 1 :

It's bigger if you right click and display just the pic.

Do you have sends to any Busses that may not be muted?
Right clicking on the record button in the transport module will give you different methods of recording if take lanes are not for you. I think you can then choose 'store takes in separate tracks' rather than in the one track as per take lanes.

Clicking on the "A" button on the track strip archives the track.

i found hidden vox tracks, i'm a dope. now, how to record without using take lanes. in X-2 there were take lanes, however one had the option to use them or not. it seems with platinum there is no choice. i have attached how i set up recording, maybe someone can see what i'm doing wrong.

Hi Joey, Your best bet would be to insert and arm a new track each time you want to record a take without using take lanes. Remember to unarm the previous track you were recording to.

Joey, to include pictures and have them appear in your message, display just your pic from wiki in your browser and use that address when you click the "Insert / Edit Image" button in the forum message editor.

It may be that this forum software doesn't like colons ":" in links, who knows.  Anyway, here's the pic :
