Recently updated to Manchester.
First time doing midi editing on a recent project.
Adding Hi Hat single notes, some copy/pasting and some manual. Go to remove a few individual notes by right clicking with the Smart Tool after a few deletes the mouse icon turns into the delete "razor" icon and nothing works.

This is a basic function. How can this be malfunctioning?

I have had some sort of problem with every single upgrade since I went to Sonar Platinum in August. All different, all having to do with basic functions.

None of my gear has changed just versions of Sonar. At this point I can't say that I'm a big fan of this subscription method...I think it is creating more problems than it is worth.

Now I see that there is a Manchester Update? When did that come out? No email notice? No notice in the forum?

If you have been reading the forum on a regular basis you would have seen plenty of traffic about Manchester. So far as I know the forum does not send notifications unless you are subscribed to a thread, but I may be wrong. I never get anything forum related.

What I'm doing is leaving my main DAW alone if it's working and none of the new features are needed by me. My main DAW is still a "B" version. I am updating my Laptop with CC but I'm still back on the "G" update and all is working fine.
I will always stayed tuned to the forum and wait until all is clear before updating.

I see there is a Melodyne update but I have yet to see anyone metion the included version , all talk is about the full version and issues with that. I havn't used Melodyne yet but might try it someday. But I'll wait and see before updating. Seems it's not smart to jump in the minute new releases happen.

I didn't see the alert on the startup screen. It doesn't exactly jump out at you.... I usually check the forum and I usually get an email.

It also blew up my Roland OctaCapture...an issue that we solved with a work around during the last version....

Full system restarts  and all these stoppages are soul crushing.

Cactus I did the Melodyne 4 update but it wasn't in use. This is basic.....I mean basic midi editing.

I normally try not to update if things are working...but lately I keep hoping something will finally get fixed.

At the risk of jinxing things. I ran the Manchester update and resumed the project. So far so good with no crashes or hang ups. <fingers crossed>

If SONAR acts weird, Save As... the project, close SONAR, then re-open. A full system restart is usually not necessary.

Sorry to hear of your continued troubles Mark. I do lots of midi editing but have had very few issues with platinum. I have noticed lately that quite a few people having these problems are using either the Roland quadcapture or octacapture interfaces. This could of course just be because there are a lot if them around, but I wonder whether there might be driver issues?

Not to get all rah-rah TASCAM, but after switching from the Octa-Capture to the US-4x4 (and now the US-20x20 to take advantage of the latency reduction due to USB 3.0), a whole lot of strange issues went away. However since switching to Windows 10, I use the Octa-Capture with Windows drivers along with the TASCAM using ASIO as part of a convoluted video recording/editing setup, and it's given me no trouble. Who knows...
